Hi Christopher: Perhaps I should say........G'day Mate! Anyway, the very first new car I purchased as a young man was a 1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport with the 327 c.i. engine, T-10 4 speed tranny, positraction rear, dual exhaust F-41 heavy duty suspension and METALLIC brake linings for the 4 wheel drum brakes. It would go and it would whoa! No fade and no pulling. It usually took 2 or 3 stops to get the linings warmed up enough so that they did the job properly. Metallic was certainily the way to go if you could not get discs. By the way, I am one of those guys who converted my Fs brakes to front disc and dual master cylinder. What a hell of a difference it made and the 235-14 Coker Radials sure added a lot of comfort to the ride and steering.
