RE: [Chrysler300] plug problem

Victor,

I'm with Ben, I don't think your problem is ignition, its the carbs and
chokes. Make sure your chokes are pulling off completely and that you don't
start and run the car for short periods unnecessarily. Take 'er out and run
her good on the freeway and give 'er the "Italian tune-up". If your chokes
are not pulling off, find out why and go from there.

As far as the points go, I have standard OEM dual points on my 300G, set
with a feeler gauge, and run a stock MoPar coil. I haven't had the spark
plugs out in years, or the points for that matter. Runs great, nice and
smooth, just ask Larry Jett, he'll tell ya! Welcome to the Club, you'll
like it here.

Before taking out the electronic ignition, lets look to see what the problem
is.. When you have the carbs located so far way from the intake the first
problem is that the mixture never gets warm enough to fire properly that is
why Chrysler added those heat risers to the bottom of the carbs and those
carb pots everyone hates. The carbs will react like they would on a cold
day, ( here in Canada ) were they will foul because the mixture is to
cold... 22 degrees is not going to be so retarded as to foul the
mixture..you can advance the spark, but them you had better have very goof
fuel, which we can't get in this country anymore, because if you don't have
that kind of fuel the next problem is pre ignition which will be must worse
then fouled plugs.
Also is the choke staying on all the time putting to much fule into the
system because the heat riser is not working or a small leak in one of the
floats that puts to much fuel into the system. I think your looking in the
wrong spot
