Paul: Many thanks for a prompt and thorough response. Something else to be thankful for. Now, if I could get some new memory banks to help remember what spare parts I have and where they are rat-holed. My mechanic has the starter in and reports it worked fine. Makes me wonder what the heck the differences are between the Canadian and US starters??? The only thing I saw was the tin cover that covers the access holes for the brushes was a stout bolt-on cover on the Canadian unit vs. a cheaper snap-on cover on the US unit. But, that might have been added by the rebuilder. Were there differing standards between US & Canada on some parts? I didn't notice if the information on the red tag was in French.
