Negative, the piston will come up twice to TDC per each revolution of the distributor, you're working on a 4 cycle. It doesn't matter where you start with the wires as long as you have the sequence (firing order) correct. Of course a concours judge might throw you out of the tent. _____ From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dave Schwandt Sent: Sunday, May 15, 2011 4:08 PM To: zzub@xxxxxxx; 2HsandaHeritage@xxxxxxxxxxx Cc: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [Chrysler300] 413 DISTRIBUTOR CAP I think of you crank the motor and find #1 TDC, the rotor will be pointing at the #1 plug wire location. I have a tune up diagram that shows the distributor and where to place the plug wires in relation to the clips. Unfortunately, this diagram is only correct for a Chrysler built distributor like the dual point one on my H. The distributor on my 62 Sport is a prestolite or autolite unit and the plug wire placement has a different relationship to the clips. If you have the prestolite/autolite single point distributor, then the #1 plug wire is located one space clockwise from the left clip. If you have the Chrysler dual point distributor, then the #1 plug wire is located two spaces clockwise from the left clip. Hope this helps, Doug Warrener Fair Oaks, CA ----- Original Message ----- From: zzub@xxxxxxx <mailto:zzub%40cox.net> To: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:Chrysler300%40yahoogroups.com> Sent: Saturday, May 14, 2011 3:32:10 PM Subject: [Chrysler300] 413 DISTRIBUTOR CAP Can anyone tell me which plug wire goes to the first postion right (CW) of the notch of the cap? I changed caps and may have mis-aligned the wires. The wires are in the correct sequence. Thanks in advance.
