Just curious-are the two different-sized sheaves connected by V-belts to the same driven sheave or driving two different accessories such as p/s & a/c? If the same, there must be a lot of squealing going on unless the driven sheave is smaller by the same proportion. Even so??? I can see some value in having two different sheave ratios for a single-belt system-one for low to moderate engine speed, and the other for high speed runs. Might make sense to have a/c working better in city traffic. The crank pulleys have two sets double groves. Each set same size. Then I bought a 58 Imperial parts car. It was a factory air car. When I pulled the motor I noticed the crank pulley was as you described. The 2 inner groves are different. I am sure like you described. The compressor was not on the motor when I bought it. I was perplexed how the belts routed. It is odd that a 58 Imperial was different from a D. If you want to borrow one of mine until you locate one, your are welcome to it. I am a long ways from installing 2 factory units on my cars. I'm putting on the full factory air arrangement up front to handle my "dealer installed" A/C setup - A/C pump, dual pulley gen, dual pulley water pump, and 4 groove crank pulley. Going from the back, the #1 groove of the crank pulley is 1/2" smaller in diameter than the #2 pulley. And now I'm sure these two should be the same, and that would be my problem. I got the crank pulley from Jeff Carter, so I'll check with him in the morning to see if he thinks he sent me a wrong one. If I'm not able to get a "correct" crank pulley by the time we leave for CA, would you think a single belt could handle the water pump and the power steering pump? Or is that just going to slip when I turn? Thanks.
