This isn't my thread, but I've been following it and I am curious. VALUE considerations aside, from a judging perspective would there be an automatic deduction for the car not matching the factory color code? Is that something the judges look at? (Of course, I'm assuming all of the nooks and crannies are done correctly. And I'm also not talking about the quality of the paint job--just the color issue. And again, assuming a correct factory color for the year is used). If so, are there a specific number of points involved? Does it perhaps depend on the category (concourse versus other)? Or could it just be at the judge's discretion?

Maybe someone who judges at the various meets could weigh in?

Certainly "20% lower value" for being a non factory color would be brought up for sure!

I am restoring a 300D. The tags say it should be a white car although at some point it was repainted a turquoise. White is a pretty plain color and I would like to repaint to a correct color but something a little more colorful. Some clubs, like Cadillac (CLC) allow a car to be repainted without deduction so long as the car could have been ordered in that color from the factory. Are there judging deductions for a 300D repaint to another, but correct color?
