Having a few problems with the rebuild project and figure my best source for help will come from fellow club members that love these old detroit dinosaurs and especially the ones that Chrysler deemed fitting to badge as the 300 series starting with the C 300 through the "L".
Problem #1
Transmission rebuilt using kit from Fasco by local source with +40 years experience rebuilding automatic tranny's.
Mechanic spent many hours adjusting and all seemed good or so i thought..
Drove car home about 15 miles and all was good. Went to move the car later in the afternoon and tranny stays in low and will not upshift.
Had same problem prior to rebuild and would have to go from D to R to L then D, and after going through 3-4 sequences and
varying the combinations tranny would go through the gears.
Tried same on the rebuilt unit with No Luck.
Has anyone had a similar problem and if so is there a fix?
Problem # 2
Installed Iskenderian Cam that Eric from Hot Heads recommended part # 3601-C Grind # B-777.
Engine idle Very lumpy and when going from D back to N the starter from Road Runner Starters LTD New Zealand part #RS809C will attempt to start the car and makes that chinking sound that happens when gears are out of mesh.
mechanic said vacuum is low which will cause the problem but should correct once engine is broken in.
Has anyone installed this particular cam and if so did you experience same issues?
Thanking all in advance for your help.
