Dumb question but why wouldn’t we use gaskets? For any exhaust interface? As long as they are good quality, and won’t be prone to leaking. I like the kind with graphite crush. I’ve also seen where some folks use hi-temp permatex to coat the gaskets. I use 7/16-14 stainless bolts and locknuts for the manifold-to-pipe connections. Not saying they’re better, but hopefully easier to remove them in the future than the (usually) horribly rusted carbon steel bolts and nuts you often run into.
