Is buying aftermarket parts considered an upgrade from oem stuff, and is it worth the extra money? For example, I'm rebuilding my 318 Poly and am considering a new water pump (Milodon aluminum high-flow) and also a new fuel pump (Carter). Is there really any advantage to using these parts vs. the originals that came with the engine, or "new" ones from Napa for 1/2 the price?

Thanks!
