It was not a ford. It was an 8.75" chrysler .

Look at the area directly above the yoke. If it is a 8' ferd there will be a
casting chunk overhanging the flange.

I did find it in a wrecking yard, and have since been kicking myself in
the rear, since, even though it had no casting numbers.
I know it was the 742 casting, since it was a big block car.I should
have snagged it, but waited too long.
I got the trans, and driveshaft.
The trans went to Gary Hamel, and the driveshaft went in my 63 Polara 500.
It was a 65 Monaco, 4 door.

Thanks, Brent. Hum, I don't speak F@rd. ;-)

But here's a twist on the mystery:

A few years back my friend Jimmy found a '65 C body (Plymouth I think)
in a junkyard. That Mopar had the original big block and trans AND this
exact same style 8.75. He did not snag the 8.75 because he was not clear
what it was.

The Dodge in the photo is in Canada, the C Jimmy found was in Texas.
Both were 1965's.
