Hardtops are beautiful.  Leave it alone.  These cars are so special, there is no need to mess with any of them.  I restored my grandmothers 4 door Dart and it is even cool (Dec 2001 Mopar of the Month).  It is fast, it's a Mopar, and it even wins an occasional trophy.

The only thing like you're talking about that I've seen that turned out good looking is a mint green 62 Dart wagon that a guy converted from a 4 door to a 2 door.  He did a great job and it looks good, but I don't know why he did it.  Oh yeah, it has a hemi in it too. That always helps.  Seems like any car looks better with a hemi. I guess the guy didn't have any budget problems to worry about.
