Is there a mounting cup kit for the tach?  If there is I would think it 
would be easy to hide a re-crimp job for the tach too.  Dayglo orange spray 
paint should be easy to come by at hobby or craft stores.  You could then 
slit a piece of newspaper and pass the slit under the gauge needles and 
spray if careful.
