In fact, the engine in my parts car will be coming out this weekend (hopefully) Will start tear down, cleaning & measuring. It ought to be a powerful , but reliable motor. I will be running a P-600 with 3 Stromberg 97's, along with a cam obtained from Gary. Can't wait to get it built & in the car! I'm watching what he does and will follow same with my 64 Belv's poly. It's a beautiful motor to look at and run. My stock poly is so quiet now with the hood closed, you barely hear it running. I'm driving it to Carlisle this year. I've had folks ask me "that thing got a hemi?" and I respond "Yea!". I wait to hear the "sweet!" but just wait till the P600 is on her. Then it'll be "sweet" for sure. Good luck pulling the rears, keep us posted. I've got 3 poly motors now, a '59 4B, '64 2B and a '65 2B. Be a polyhead. Yes it is easer to make horse power with a 440, but then again anyone can do that. How many hot rod Poly's do you see running around? Not many. So if it blows your skirt up, do it. Heck I hate to admit it, but I use to try to make Pontiacs run fast in the late 60's and early 70's. It was like hitting yourself on the head with a rock, because it felt good when you quit. Your going to have a blast. Earl I don't know about you other Poly heads, but I'm amazed (and not surprised) at how many people online tell me that my engine is a piece of junk, and I MUST swap in a 360 or bigger! It's funny, yet frusterating at the same time. I've become VERY fond of the 318 Poly...thanks to Gary P, as well as you other Poly heads that have given me such good advice. It's an engine that has a lot of potential, you just gotta know how to do it! Gotta love it... Andy --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
