The manifold I'm using is a dual split plane, which means the manifold is 
divided into a left and right side.  The right barrels of the carb feed into a 
common plenum that the right side of the engine draws from.  The same with the 
left.  Due to this, I have the carbs connected in a direct one to one (both 
carb primaries open together).  So each side of the motor initially runs off 2 
primary barrels and later, as vacuum calls for it, the secondaries kick in.  
Basically it's like two 4 cylinder motors with a 4 barrel for each.  I think I 
just confused myself.....  Joe
