Good one.  Here's one of mine, not actually a dream, nor quite a pet peeve:  
buy a 1 of 3 max wedge '62 Sport Fury, meet at A&A transmission with the 
seller who brought it all the way from CA in an enclosed trailer, drive it 
home, on the way to the insurance office the next morning so they can take a 
couple of pictures, get rear-ended by a guy in a county goverment truck who 
said he was so distracted looking at the car he didn't realize I was 
stopping.  Fortunately, damage was fairly minor and the county paid for the 
bodywork and a rechrome and straighten on the bumper.
