Hi
Yes, for the purple gear thats what the chart shows. The gear part no.
is 2204357
With regards to the Transmission Filter, the "in line" style was pretty well
universal in '62 and '63 on all transmissions be it the TorqueFlite six or
the Torqueflite eight. Every '62 or '63 I've encountered if equipped with an
auto trans had one an used a strainer in the trans itself.

Wally,

Thank you for the information. As I dig deeper on this car, it seems to
have more and more that doesn't match the norm. It is an ex-Highway Patrol
car, but even at that, things are not always what they seem. This is a 318
4bbl car with a speedo cable end colored purple. The tires are 7.00 X 14.
According to your manual, this color would have to be on a /6 car, is that
correct? This car also came with transmission cooling lines with a filter
in the middle. According to my information, this was only available on big
blocks, but do any of the manuals out there verify this? Looking for all
the answers and assistance I can find.

One last thing regarding transmissions, this car also had brackets that
attached to the bell housing and went to the back of the motor. (Tranny
support brackets?) What types of vehicles did these particular items come
on?

Thanks for all the help!!
