OK, so that's how we set it up - yet we've got the intake (or was it exhaust???) valve opening then - shouldn't things both be closed then?

Crap - maybe we were looking at TDC for on the exhaust stroke...?

The mark on the crank sprocket points up, the mark on the cam sprocket
points down (they point toward each other). If your crank sprocket has
multiple marks, use the one that points up when the motor is at TDC.
