I just had the rears replaced in my 64 and they're banded.
I asked about them as they added one on the rear. Espo supplied.
If we took off the bands, they would separate. bad.
Also- I just bought a 65 Belv2 convertible tonight!!!
(now I "really" have to get rid of one of those 65 Belv2 4 door cars)

Hey Everybody,

     I have SS springs on my 65 Bel 1 and they have steel bands around 
the leaves. I read somewhere that the bands should be removed to let the 
springs wrap up.I also seem to remember back in the 60's wrapping the 
springs with tape and puttung hose clamps around the springs. I'm so 
confused !! Car is street driven.
