I could use one from them. Plus the pedal set I have to change. Is the driveshaft the same between a manual and auto tranny? Anybody know? I don't have the Vert yet, I'm probably having a friend of Don Schrader's transport it for me. Illinois to Massachusetts. I don't know what the previous owner did when restoring it. It came factory with a 383 manual and now has a 273 manual. They must have changed the engine and tranny. I don't know. I should have it by Labor Day. There are no interchangeable parts past the turn signal switch, except for the shaft will be the same length. You probably want to find a '65 cable column, with the cables, to maintain stock appearance and factory reliability. You could also pull the shifter lever from the column, and find a floor shifter to use.
