It's most likely your alternator, I'd take it off and take it down to Napa and get it tested. If that tests out fine then its you regulator. Usually, before the regulators go bad they can get stuck on full blast too. At least I've had three or four cases like this between the number of cars we have. But I'd take that alternator down to Napa and get it tested, it only takes a couple minutes.

Hi, Friends.
The alternator on my 62 Dart just stopped generating. Is there a simple test
to determine if it's the alternator or the regulator that needs replacing? Or
both?
The dash gauge seems fine; the needle bounces to the negative side in rythm
with the turn signal lights. And the battery's new and charges back up on the
battery charger fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Paul
