I used SM Arnold Silver Metallic Refinishing Paint, chosen more or less at random.  Without having an NOS piece to compare it with, I'm pretty satisfied that it looks right.

(I would be concerned about the durability of Krylon.  My experience with it on metal is that it looks great, but doesn't hold up to any contact.)
