I currently have the kickdown linkage adjusted so that it's mating face to the carb stud is ~3/8" farther forward than the carb stud itself, so there's always SOME pressure on the linkage. I don't remember how much father forward I can go and not screw something up. I didn't realize that 8 mph was the magic number. Maybe I'll just continue to reach down and manually drop it into 2nd if I can't get the kickdown where I want.
