You got it Dan

 You have it now Dan.
We were educated in imperial units. We were also taught metric about grade 3 i think it was and i never forgot it.
Most of us still figure miles per gallon imp even though the government would have us figure number of Kms per 100 litres or some dumb thing. We totally ignore that and have double thermometes with both celsuis and fahrenheit and always only care what fahrenheit is. We drive down the road and see a sign that says 17 kms to Bellevile our brain immedatley says 17 km = 17/2 plus 10% = 8.5 +1.7 = 10.2 miles roughly or ten minutes driving at 60 MPH. I know it isnt exact but it is quick and our mind can do it without conscious thought. In our wilder days we tried to drink a 40 oz-er When us dinosoars are gone the newer generation were taught only metric and taught not to convert nor how so when i see that saying "are you smarter then a fifth grader?" i see red and think ,of course!.
So for the milelage thing a quick conversion to Us standards is 80%. If i say i am getting 10 mpg if i was on your system it would be 8 Mpg using your gallon. Most of my generation were not amused when the metric was introduced and some of us stubborn old dudes bought only two sockets and two wrenches to cover the metric since all the rest work well.
Anyway i bought a new tank for my 63 when i did it . it did not seem to be overpriced. i think it was $110 back then. it has stood up well . That was how i found out they were Canadian product since i could get it overnite. Overnote from the USA is a impossibility here because of customs. two days would be the absolute fastest and then only during the week.
