The 904 should (at least until it could get rebuilt with stronger internals). I'd start looking for an A Body 8 & 1/4 (LBP) or better yet and 8 & 3/4. The 340 4 barrel Dart wagon I'm building gets an 8 & 3/4 right from the gitgo.

Great discussion, thanks.
The idea of the progressive linkage makes a lot of sense, as does the big cam!
I'd love to have something like that under the hood.

My engine would need to be freshened up at least before doing that.
Would my 904 and my 7 1/4" rear end survive such an engine for a week or two??
