Re: air cleaner help




Sounds like you have the 273/318 clamp type air cleaner. If you can get a large blade screwdriver between the ears of the clamp on the carb, you should be able to twist it with enough pressure to engage the threads as you are turnong the thumb bolt out. The thumb bolt is more likely boogered up than the captured nut.

Actually i ment the one nut on the side of the air cleaner that tightens around the carb, sorry. Another quick question would a 22bl card air cleaner from a slant six fit on a 2bbl for a 318 poly. if so does anyone have a spare??
