RE: 850 DP vs dual 4's

I have run two dual four cars and two six pack cars and loved them. I had one six pack set up to run mechanical, and it was junk until I got it all set back up to vacuum. Both dual quad setups were mechanical secondaries, with non progressive linkage. One was a Hemi with Carters, the other a 440 with small Holleys, 500's as I recall. The 440 is more to this situation, and basically, it ran with a lesser throttle than a single carb. Wasn't much different than having a giant 4 bbl on it. I don't think it was much worse if at all on fuel than the 800 singles I ran. Outside of the fact that you always have the chance of double the problems (and double the expense) with a dual quad set up, it's not that difficult to run. Too bad Dulmage isn't handy, he's probably the one that has run single and dual carbs on the same engine setup.
