I'm going to try the VIN number. I am pretty sure my Dad can find it (even though my crazy dream is to find it for him as a present for his retirement and 65th birthday in a few years, I'm wishing at this point). I have several Sheriff friends that drop by my fire station all the time so I will try to convince them to run it if I can find it.

 Derek, I wish you more luck than I have had tracing people and cars.  The 
"privacy act" is good, but now it is hard to get information you may need . 
Keep trying and maybe we can get some tips
