A word of caution here. DO NOT use playsand unless you have a positive pressure mask. When sand (silica) breaks into fine dust (as in a blast cabinet), breathing it can lead to silicosis. NOT a fun disease, pretty much like asbestosis. A dust mast won't cut it.
Glass bead media is made for those cabinets and is safer to use.

You're not really using (toy box) "sand" are you? Just the same, moisture is a major Fault. Everything including the part to be cleaned must be dry. No dried on grease or oils are allowed in a cabinet. As for the hose, you need to get a new one and clamp it tightly.

I find the biggest problem with my blast cabinet is the nozzle plugging
up with larger bits of sand. It looses suction sometimes due to the
intake hose cracking, and if the sand is just a little moist it won't
blast! Lots of different issues here.
