Rich,
The plan was to have the fan work as a puller...but you know what
happens to plans. The radiator is a big Flex-a-Lite 52000 series cross
flow with a Flex-a-Lite 180 series Black Magic X-Treme fan. The engine
uses an Edelbrock high performance 88 series water pump for an LA engine
with a March Performance pulley. Since the pump shaft is much longer
than a Poly pump it and the electric fan wanted to occupy about 2 inches
of the same space. Even with the motor mounts modified to set the engine
back 1/2 inch for header clearance.
Flex-a-Lite Tech. says that the fan will work at 80% when used as a
pusher. The fan seals to the radiator and fits in the radiator support
with no modifications. Everything fit as if it where made for our 62 to
65 cars, and that's a first.
