Re: trying pics of wiring diagram 64/65

I'm no electrician, so I would use the 1965 setup with the fuseable link; if that diagram shows how Chrysler did it in 1965 then Ma Mopar had good reason to change from 1964's version.

While you are at it, consider replacing the electrical connectors in the firewall (bulkhead) connector, and the mating plugs. Details and PN are on http://1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/techstuff.html  

http://www.allpar.com/history/mopar/electrical.html also reviews the firewall (bulkhead) connector weakness and solution for the ammeter current flow danger. Worth considering as you are now wired. :)
