There is no difference in flex plate un less you buy a b&m flex for external balance engine wich I did! Then you can use any neutral balance converter you like Jason

Buy a 440 cast flex plate. b. weld up the six holes. c. machine the welds flat and redrill holes to proper alignment from a 440/400 template e. Finish engine build up. Reason for this possible solution: would have to completely rebuild a different engine (440 or 400), the marine engine only has 10 hours on it since complete rebuild. Open to thoughts/suggestions. I think the "reverse" direction engine is one that was used in a 2-engine boat. Single engine marine 440s spun in the same direction as their land yacht counterpoints.
