I drove my '59 Imperial as a daily driver for about 5 years and I don't 
recall ever having any issue with the pushbutton operation. The tranny 
broke once when 1st and reverse quit, but I still drove it for awhile 
until I could get it fixed and just had to be careful where I parked.
