Re: IML: push button automatics

I drove my '59 Imperial as a daily driver for about 5 years and I don't recall ever having any issue with the pushbutton operation. The tranny broke once when 1st and reverse quit, but I still drove it for awhile until I could get it fixed and just had to be careful where I parked.

for many years I have heard old war stories between people and the pushbutton automatics, I under stand that they would get stuck and a driver played hell trying to get the car to either go revese after being in a forward gear and vise versa, MY question to all is is this a problem that exzists with our IMPERIALS, ? and if so has anyone solved this and how did you do it?
