Re: IML: How to take apart '67 hood ornament?

Hey, everyone... Sorry for the apparent misinformation about which side of
the ornament the retaining ring was on. I replaced my over 10 years ago and
don't keep the car at home, so I did the best I could from memory. You can
see what side of the ornament the rings is on by looking at it (which I'll
surely do and commit to memory next time I exercise my car, but since I know
the insert seems to sit almost flush with the front of the chrome outer
ring, that was how I remembered it going together).

The part I wanted to explain to the person who raised the original question
was that there was a ring and that it was a press-in type. I'll dig through
my spare parts sometime to see if I have an insert nice enough for George to
make a mold from.
