Remove the tank. Have it completely cleaned inside . radiator repair
shops often do this. Blow out the line, or failing in that replace it. Old gas
is bad news for your carb also. I have several old Mopars that haven't seen
the road in years. I run them several times a year, but only from containers
attached to the pump line as you are doing. Never trust old gas.
