Dennis,

Here?s two options to consider.  First you could get another bezel/faceplate from a junkyard and cut it to make a modern CD head unit fit.  It should fit under the drop down door so it could be hidden when a need to look original comes up.

Next you could send your AM radio out to be converted to AM/FM with auxiliary inputs for a CD or MP3 player.  I did that for my ?68 Fastback?s thumbwheel.  I still need to install it though.  Yea, another BOGger on the IML.

Some of the ?Haze Green? veterans here would know better, but I believe the ?68?s had optional speakers in the doors.  There might be something on the site about that.  I know I saw it here before.  I can?t remember if they were optional in the ?67.  I still need to get mine road worthy before I consider doing anything with tunes.  Besides, the AM in my dash does work, so I can?t use a dead radio as an excuse to mess with it.

I just bought a 67 Imperial and the original AM radio doesn't work.  I'd like to get a Am-FM with CD  or CD changer installed with out cutting the dash or the old radio location.  Anyone install a newer radio under the dash?  Where did you mount the speakers?  I'd like 4 but don't want to cut the door upholstery or the rear window package shelf.
