Whew, I narrowly escaped an embarrassing car fire. Embarrassing for a Firefighter anyway. I drove my 64 Crown home from work and got about three blocks from the station, 1 block from home, and smelled that wire burning smell and noticed curls of smoke emanating from behind the dashboard. I parked it and took it to a mechanic in my neighborhood who found a burnt wire going to the switch by the brake pedal that actuates the turn off for the cruise. He presumed that the switch shorted out. Is this a part that I can still get? By the way, this mechanic charged my nil, zip, nada. Ya gotta love guys like that! Anyway, I will be needing this switch assembly if anyone has one. Thanks guys, Greg
