Careful here, Kerry. Most of these shops do not know about the flow restriction orifice, thus you wind up with a very noisy system if you go this way. I've found the correct hoses at Autozone or Napa, although in some cases I had to also buy an adapter fitting to correct a wrong thread size or the like. This even worked for my 55 Hudson, when it popped it's pressure hose in the wilds of Northern California - I wound up using a hose from a late model Ford F250 truck, with an adapter fitting. Worked perfectly, and had the right restrictor in it too!. The pressure hose should be about 30 bucks. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rex Crews To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, December 12, 2002 9:26 PM Subject: IML: '59 Power Steering Hose Evening, All, I am wondering if anyone knows where I can acquire the pressure hose for the power steering in my '59 Crown? I have priced this hose from two of the well known dealers and both of them came in at over $60. This seemed unreasonable for a mere hose, but maybe there is something rare or unusual about it. I am accustomed to paying around $40 for newly fabricated hose, so I was hoping someone could help. Apparently this hose is not available through normal venues, such as NAPa. Send me a personal email, if you would, please. Thanks and happy holidays, Rex Crews '59 Crown
