Partly because of this factor, as well as observing the guys at the tire shops who always torque the hell out of the lugs when installing the tires, I no longer let any shop put the wheels back on any of my cars. If new tires are in order, I take the wheels in to the shop for tire mounting and balancing, then take them back home to install on the car and torque correctly by hand using a torque wrench. That little bit of extra time and effort is much easier and cheaper than replacing warped drums and rotors! Another suggestion -- for the wheels with left-hand threaded lugs, put a piece of masking tape on the fender right above the wheel with "LEFT-HANDED THREADS" or the equivalent in BIG letters. If nothing else, this will at least slow Mongo down long enough to ask what that's supposed to mean. And, just for the trivia minded among us, 1970 was the last year for Imperial to have left-handed threads on the driver's side.
