from: cebuisle@xxxxxxx The eccentric bolt(s) fasten the adjustment mechanism to the backing plate on the '55. The cylinders only fit in one position. Even with the eccentric backed all the way off I could not get the drums over the shoes until I sanded the shoes down as before mentioned. It took many tries. a power sander would have helped. But why wouldn't the shoes fit in the first place?? have to line the things up to allow the new shoes to fir and then adjust outward.
