 Do you have all of the pieces to this switch still? It may be easier to try
to repair the broken piece then to find another switch. Given the age of
your car the plastic pieces were likely made out of some type of phenolic
plastic, similar to a circuit board, to which epoxy bonds well. Make sure
that you use the slow curing epoxy and give it plenty of time to cure once
you get the pieces aligned.

I broke the switch itself. There is a plastic piece that fits into the
switch that aligns the switch tang and then two very small, soft copper
pieces that are attached to 2 other very small, soft copper pieces and its
all held in place by 2 microscopic springs. It's amazingly detailed
technology for the November 11, 1962, build date.

  When you say that you broke a switch do you mean an actual switch or a
knob? If it is a knob then you may have a broken dial cord, if these radios
used them. Dial cords can be a real pain to replace if you haven't dealt
with one before. If it is a switch then it may be worth checking out some
electronics suppliers for one of a similar style and function, as well as
the second hand route. Then again it may be a broken wire as they are much
easier to damage.
