81 EFI coupe on eBay gray or silver?

"Sterling Silver", code A1 is the color on this car. Sterling silver was
used in both 1981 and 1982. In addition, there was also a "Silver", code A2
in 1982.

I don't know what the difference was in appearance.

1983 has an A9 code, which was a Charcoal gray, a darker shade, as you say.
This must be what is on your car, although I cannot explain why your data
plate says AA9 - there is no such code in the book that I can see.

I see your car is an 83, that explains the difference. The options and
color codes were different for different years.
