81 EFI coupe on eBay gray or silver?

The 1983 "AA9" was for Charcoal Grey Metallic. The first "A" is actually
for the year the colour was first introduced. I believe it was for
Chrysler's letter year system. The second "A" was for the colour (silvers
are "A", blues are "C", reds are "M", etc.) while the last number is for the
shade. The higher the number, the darker the shade with "9" being the
darkest. "TX9" is black.

The three digit colour codes are generally shown on the data tag, one set on
the second row from the bottom for the body colour and another on the third
row for the roof. The upper door frame colour is shown on the second line,
right after the body colour and interior trim codes. If the door frame is
painted the same colour as the body colour, and all 1981-83 Imperials are,
the code will be "000". This layout applies to cars built from 1969.

Darts, Valiants, Belvederes and Coronets were most noted for having the
upper part of the door painted to match the interior colour scheme. These
would have a different colour listed instead of "000".

Refinishers' colour charts generally show only the last two digits.
