If you'll find a used crinkle finish "Road Runner" air cleaner (or a new repro one from Mopar Perf), use the base plate on it instead of what's with the '67 air cleaner you purchased. Then you'll have the base plate for the Holley sized center hole PLUS and incognito open element air cleaner as there will be about 3" of unrestricted access around the bottom of the air cleaner for air to get into the carb via the normal (for the car) air filter (same diameter, but taller than what the RR air cleaner uses). Looks stock, until you realize there's no baseplate all the way to the outer edge of the air cleaner housing, but not everyone will catch that. Whoops! Secrets revealed . . .
I believe the '67 used just a round flared snorkle end, like the regular 2bbl and 4bbl single snorkle air cleaner, but two of them, whereas the '68s used a rolled and flared snorkle end that was put into the end of the basic snorkle. Those inserted ends might have been a little more rectangular than really circular too. Otherwise, the same thing on the top part of the assembly.
