Nearly all the brake parts needed for a '55 are still available new. The only things that you would need to reuse would be your old shoes (have them relined) and your old drums. Replacment drums are hard to find, but available. After that, even if the car is driven A LOT you will not need new drums for a really long time if ever, provided that you maintain your brakes. By the way, when they are properly maintained and adjusted, the brakes on a '55 Imperial work very well.
