IML: Is it bad...

that when I leave my car with my mechanic I have to leave written instructions for him to operate the car? I'm used to avoiding valet parking and giving my girl a long list of things to do if she borrows the car, but my car is going in, just for an inspection mind you, and I have to leave written instructions. Once the car is warm, if you shut it down something (fuel or electric) heat soaks and it can't be re-started for 2 hours or so. It has to be warmed up in neutral because the transmission suffers from "morning sickness."

If a trained mechanic, the first I've trusted with my cars in years, can't figure out my car on his own it's gone a little past "having character" and is just plain messed up.
