The lines can easily be blurred, and I don't think anyone on here will openly object to someone doing whatever they want with their own car-I personally plan on making mine as comfy as possible. What gets someone irritated isn't the changes-its when someone claims they were always there, and swapping VINs is the easiest way to make a car something it wasn't originally. Especially for the purpose of jacking up the price- it's fraud. I wouldn't mind if my Newport had a 300 interior, but you can bet I'd still call it a Newport. It's when I start calling it a 300 that it becomes dishonest-because which brings more in the market, any condition? The 300 would win every time, and as that seems to be the idea behind selling a VIN tag like this, I hate to see it happen. Change anything you want, just don't lie about it. ~dave '61 Newport '67 Kaiser M-715 '91 Toyota Pickup On Sat, 3 Aug 2002, eastern sierra Adj Services wrote: > Y'all are so upset about "restoring" a car (hopefully: "correctly") by > swapping VIN & Body tags----- but @ what 'point' does any car become > non-original.
