Clutches normally do not stick unless something foreign causes them to stick. Most common material to goof up a clutch is the transmission lube which leaks out past the transmission front, input shaft seal through the front bearing retainer and into the clutch assembly. The other possible goo that can cause troubles is engine oil which gets into the clutch housing via a leaking rear main seal, seal retainer, rear cam plug, oil galley plugs or pan gasket. Rust in very humid or flooding conditions can cause things to not release but the brakes should also be very noisey and grabby. Never seen coolant fouling a clutch but I would guess that coolant could find it's way into the clutch housing also. Most times it's the transmission input seal (and the front bearing retainer gasket) or the rear main crankshaft seal. Would also suggest having the flywheel resurfaced in a wet grinding flywheel machine. Warren Anderson Sedona,AZ ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Yahoo! Autos.
