300C rear uni & trans binds?

1. I have just fitted a new rear uni, supposedly nos, the one with the ears
you bolt up to the diff - yetwhen fitted, it is near impossible to get a
grease gun onto the grease nipple so grease goes in - is this common, and is
that why often rear unis seem worn?!
2. I have noticed an occassional binding, or dragging, when moving the car,
and now with the tailshaft out, the problem/binding is in the trans. in
Nuetral, when turning the handbrake drum by hand, it seems to bind, or seize
- is this unusual, wrong - and if so what is usually the reason, cure. The
trans is working ok otherwise, should I investigate, or wait till worse
happens.
3. What numbers are cast in the diff housing to signify a limited slip diff,
cannot turn a wheel without the other turning, and on take off it nevers
spins one wheel like car without limited slip? Car hinted at, seemed, a
likely contendor for previous dragstrip use, so maybe if not original, was
fitted later.
no real news here from oz, spring weather finally seeming more common after
a wet winter.
