Russ, Gary - Sounds like you need to replace the Constant Voltage Regulator, which is probably mounted on the back side of the instrument cluster. Had the same prob on my first 59 Dodge. This was first used in 59 and probably continued for several years. >From the shop manual: The constant voltage regulator is common to both the fuel and temperature systems, that is, one regulator is used to operate both systems.
