Unique tools and equipment are necessary to work on a mobile refrigeration
system. If your compressor is not working, it will have to be replaced with
a remanufactured unit. Shops do not repair the internals of A/C compressors.
Your receiver/drier should be replaced whenever the system is opened. Here,
we do not except when major repairs are accomplished as we are not dealing
with high humidity.

I would suggest that an independant  shop that specializes in A/C work be
consulted. Be mindful that not all will have the experience necessary to
work with old Chrysler technology that is not highly sophisticated but that
some shops have never had to deal with. Mass merchandiser shops like Sears
and Pep Boys for instance should definately be kept away from your car.

Would also strongly suggest that system be recharged with R12 and NOT be
retrofitted to R134A or any other refrigerant and that work on the car not
be intrusted to any shop or person that suggests otherwise.  Reference:
